Creating an Advocacy Campaign for Education Reform

Achieve strives to ensure all students graduate from high school ready to succeed. To that end, they advocate for education reform at the local, state and national levels. They wanted to enable grass-roots advocates to do more. But how to give them the tools they need?

Thanks in part to our communication strategy and design, business leaders across the country have endorsed Achieve's state-by-state advocacy campaign to raise K-12 educational standards. We created a suite of branded communications resources that provide stakeholders with in-depth information and tools for taking action. Our integrated communication campaign included printed kits with inserts, a website and mobile app, and social media templates.

Advocacy that created impact in 38 states

Achieve’s suite of information resources was designed specifically for corporate CEOs, CFOs and Social Responsibility Officers, and other business leaders. The tools and resources helped participants distribute consistent, powerful messages through presentations, strategy sessions, meetings with state policy makers, speeches to Chambers of Commerce, and a plethora of outreach efforts. Campaign elements included:

  • Clear economic arguments for business leaders to support higher education standards

  • Dynamic newsfeed on issues related to skills gap and jobs in STEM fields

  • Grab and go templates and examples for use on numerous media platforms

  • State-specific tracking of legislative and policy developments

  • Success stories from across the country
