Using Video Promotion to Deliver Big Impact on a Small Budget

Video is great at weaving together words, visuals and sound into a high-impact message — but all too often, organizations rule out creating their own original video promotions because of cost concerns.

This was the challenge facing the Jewish Federations of North America — how to inspire member organizations to participate in their General Assembly (GA) in Washington, D.C. The GA is the premier event for member Federations to meet and share best practices in working to end hunger and poverty, aid women and children and support Jewish life in Israel and worldwide.

Giving members the big picture

We helped the Federations use video — on a reasonable budget — to invite viewers to re-experience the great events that have taken place in the Nation’s Capital, such as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s March on Washington and the 1987 Free Soviet Jewry rally. It placed the 2014 GA squarely within this inspirational tradition.

“We shaped the video in the storyboard process, blending archival materials into an original story,” said Beth Singer. Our video editor, Jay Flaster from Creekside Creative, worked closely with us to produce the video. We also created the event’s logo.

The result was a video that not only invited, but inspired the Federations’ members to “return” to Washington “because there’s more to do.” It was previewed at the Federations’ Jerusalem meeting and was distributed to over 1,200 member organizations around the world.

“Hiring Beth and her very talented, service-oriented design firm is a transformative experience. Not only will you be assured of exceptionally creative products, but you’ll also be exposed to new ways of thinking that will enhance your abilities as a professional.”
